FCCL members visit SilJa and "Business Embassy"

September 21st was an exciting day for FCCL members as they got to visit company SilJa and met with an inspiring woman in business Silva Jeromanova-Maura and some of her family members.



Silva was a Latvian language teacher before she started business with her spouse Jan (Silva +Jan = SilJa). Her story is incredible, now her companies cover different business areas starting from sale of agricultural machinery, cars, gardening store and Christmas pop-up store. She owns “Biznesa Vēstniecība” ("Business Embassy"), helps small local producers and does so much more.


Silva is also a mentor and says: “The more you give, the more you get in return”. Kindness, respect and beauty is always around Silva.


In the meeting Silva shared not only moments of glory, but also difficulties that she had to face as an entrepreneur. Silva believes: “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing (Walt Disney) and “Forget past mistakes, forget failures, forget everything except what you’re going to do. Just DO IT. F.A.I.L. is the First Attempt In Learning (William Durant).

Silva Jeromanova-Maura is a Board member of Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia.
